You can trust these symbols
Who hasn’t been there? Whether doing the weekly shopping, taking a stroll through the city or shopping online – when you finally find the time, you either want to escape the crowded supermarket at the weekend as quickly as possible or take your time to browse the stores in a carefree and relaxed manner. Either way, it’s easy to push aside all thoughts of sustainability during purchase decisions.
According to the 2022 study of environmental awareness, however, 91 percent of respondents want an environmentally and climate-friendly economy in Germany. Unfortunately, there is often not enough time to personally do the research in order to support companies who prioritise sustainable production through targeted purchase decisions.
For this purpose there are environmental labels that identify products that are less environmentally damaging or less harmful to health. These include, for example, the Blue Angel, Emicode or the Fairtrade Mark. Examples for test criteria include the use of recycled material, savings of energy and water during manufacturing or the social conditions during raw materials production and end production. Each symbol emphasises different priorities, which makes it possible to make comparisons within a product group at a glance.
Anyone who wishes to make a contribution to the positive and sustainable development of our economy without too much effort should keep their eyes open when making their next purchase.
Because you can trust these symbols.
