Our Triotherm+ pre-wall installation system
What makes a system like our blaugelb Triotherm+ system a pioneer in the industry?
Is it the extensive tests, the system safety or the simple fact that the system is brilliant when it comes to processing and efficiency? It's actually much simpler than that, because just as the system is an interplay between its individual components and their qualities, the answer to the question of what makes our pre-wall installation system so special is quite similar: It is the sum of its many advantages.
But why is a pre-wall installation system so important?
The goal here, among other things, is to bring the window into an optimum position, namely directly in the insulation layer. The window can perform best there: you lose the least amount of energy and at the same time reduce thermal bridges. A positive side effect of this is that the aesthetics are helped here considerably because when a window has to be set back behind the insulation layer, the planned window is considerably limited in its actual feature of being an opening for letting in light. The generous window areas are lost to a certain extent. If the window is ideally positioned, however, the light can be let in at a wider angle, which in turn affects the view to the outside as this also becomes broader, more generous and more open. And if an exchange is planned after the window’s lifespan, with this type of installation the façade or insulation layer does not need to be disturbed because the exchange is reversible. These advantages make pre-wall installation an attractive option for many construction projects, especially for renovations and for the use of high-quality window systems which emphasise the minimisation of thermal bridges and energy efficiency. It also must be pointed out here: compared to conventional window installation, using our system saves a lot of CO2 and thereby helps the environment.
What does our system include?
The centrepiece is our Triotherm+ Profiles made of EPS, which are Cradle to Cradle® Certified at the Silver level and have a base length of little over a metre. This has the advantage that transporting them to the construction site, or even within the construction site, does not represent any logistical effort. The truly clever part here is the dovetail joint, as this enables endless extension of the profiles. The profiles are available in depths up to 230 mm, meaning that they offer the required space for even large window systems and insulation.
And the BMB version of our Triotherm+ Profiles is also available as a low carbon profile that is produced using the biomass balance method.
The second component is our Hybrid Polymer Power Fix, which ensures an airtight connection of the profiles to the substrate. The joints of the frame are also properly sealed with this. Thanks to the extremely high initial adhesion, attachment of the profiles to the substrate is quite simple as the adhesive and sealant immediately holds these in place while still allowing slight corrections. The profiles can then be drilled and screwed. Our sealant naturally has EMICODE EC1PLUS status.
The system is secured with our blaugelb Frame Screw Fix FK-T30 with flat head. This fastener by itself already has an RC2 approval and is even more versatile when used in a system. Available in a galvanised version or made of high-quality stainless steel.
