What matters to us
Don’t worry, we’re not just another brand that is attempting to present itself as green – even if the first glance at the logo might lead you to believe that. The goal with our new blaugelb sustaineable brand is to offer real transparency. We would like to sensitise you and also ourselves to sustainability topics and encourage a desperately needed change in the way that society thinks. For this purpose we have established this ambassador brand.
Already around 25 % of the entire product range at the blaugelb brand is entirely sustainable. We are constantly trying to increase this share. To achieve this, we are relying on solutions like our BMB products that are produced from biomass-balanced EPS and can thus be included among the low carbon products.

Interesting facts about sustainable construction
The EMICODE
Thanks to the challenges of climate change, these days the high quality of a product also includes the lowest possible burden for humans and nature. This becomes especially clear when we are made aware of the invisible dangers in our daily lives. Who would have initially connected a respiratory disease, for example, with the sealing material in your own home? How can we protect ourselves and our earth from dangers like these?
EMICODE offers a simple and transparent opportunity to compare different flooring materials and construction products with one another and guarantee the highest quality. Over 14,000 products that are labelled with an EMICODE stamp had to undergo strict tests with regard to their emission behaviour and the room pollution created as a result.
This stamp can also be found on many of our blaugelb products and we are working tirelessly to meet the highest sustainability standards.
The DGNB
What exactly does sustainability mean? You frequently find definitions that talk about the 3 dimensions of economy, ecology and social aspects and set different priorities in each of the different economic fields. So how can we manage to live up to this in the construction industry as well?
The German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) has taken on precisely this task. It wants to design the construction and real estate industry to be more sustainable. To achieve this, it is setting clear requirements for all types of construction projects, thereby offering a reliable guideline for sustainable building. As a member, Meesenburg also support sustainability.

The EPD
Advertising follows us everywhere. Whether in social media, on the radio during your commute or when watching your favourite show, it always finds a way to present the next-best product with all of its advantages. This can make it hard to search for what you really want and at the same time for products that keep their promises.
This problem can be easily avoided by using EPDs. With so-called environmental product declarations that are published by the Institut Bauen und Umwelt, you have access to all of the information about a product – from the raw materials production to disposal.
